The Heron Specialist Group, HeronConservation, is hosting the African Heron Research and Conservation: Global Linkages, Local Impacts Symposium in conjunction with the Pan African Ornithological Congress (PAOC) at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, 21- 25 November 2022. The call for abstracts for oral and poster presentations is posted on the PAOC web site. Abstracts are due by 31 May 2022 and must be submitted on a specialized form available on the web site. Registration fees must be paid before an abstract will be formally accepted. Early bird fees for registration end May 31, 2022.

If you are interested in attending PAOC 2022 meeting and presenting at our heron symposium, please complete the form to let us know the proposed topic of your presentation and if funding to offset travel costs is needed. HeronConservation has obtained funding from the IUCN Species Survival Commission and The Waterbird Society to provide travel funding assistance to symposium presenters. Additionally, the PAOC Organizing Committee plans to have funding available for African students, early career professionals and conservationists.
